In a Norwegian apartment, a daughter and her mother listen to a cassette tape sent from Iran thirty years earlier – a voice letter from the grandmother who died soon after she made it. The grandmother speaks a Persian dialect the daughter cannot understand. As the mother listens and translates, the boundaries between past and present begin to dissolve and three generations of women connect across distance and time.
