Helene sjekker inn is a documentary series for NRK in which presenter Helene Sandvig moves into different institutions for five days at a time. The series offers an inside look at places and lives that are often hidden from public view, through close encounters with the people who live and work there.

Azar Ebrahimi was part of the team that developed the format, and directed and co-directed several episodes across its first three seasons.

The series received several awards and was adapted in several countries outside Norway. It also sparked public debate about the ethical challenges of making documentaries within institutions involving people in vulnerable situations.
